Dear Members

The publishing of the draft property charter in the Government Gazette on 15 October 2010 under section 9 (5) of the BBBEE Act marks a significant milestone in repositioning the Property Sector for a transformed future. Growth, development and transformation are imperative initiatives for our profession to thrive. In terms of the process, there are sixty (60) days following the 15 October 2010, in which to give comments.

Please find a copy of the relevant Government Gazette here for your urgent perusal. A summary is also available under Spotlight on the site for your convenience.

It will be appreciated if you would forward relevant and substantiated comments to Kate Colsell at our national office info@ieasa.org.za together with your details and IEASA membership number (these will not be relayed in the final document) by 15 November 2010, who will forward them to me. I shall then compile a joint comment to forward to the authorities on behalf of all IEASA members.
