IEASA joins worldproperties.com network

Article Date :20 Apr 2007

IEASA is the newest member of the International Consortium of Real Estate Associations (ICREA)

The Institute of Estate Agents of South Africa (IEASA)is the newest member of the International Consortium of Real Estate Associations (ICREA), the organizing body of the WorldProperties.com Network. IEASA is South Africa’s oldest professional real estate association with 8000 members in 10 regions. The addition of IEASA expands the group’s representation to 26 professional real estate associations in 26 countries worldwide.

“The globalization of the real estate industry is one of the primary principles on which ICREA was created,” said Timo Smit, chair of ICREA’s Executive Committee and former president of NVM, the Dutch Real Estate Association, “The addition of IEASA to the WorldProperties.com family further enhances our members’ ability to provide clients with service on an international scale through the organizations’ website, www.WorldProperties.com . The WorldProperties.com Network now spans 26 countries, providing members with the ability to cooperate with more than two million brokers and to access over three million listings worldwide.”

Dr Willie Marais, President of IEASA, added, “ICREA has taken real initiative in providing its members with tools for building their businesses both nationally and internationally. As part of the WorldProperties.com Network, IEASA members will have access to more potential buyers, the support of a global association, tools to help them more efficiently build and transact business, and access to a substantially larger database of homes to meet a wider range of potential client needs. Now when our members take a property listing for a client that is moving out of town they will be able to help them sell their home, and find a new one.”

Marais also said that the fact that IEASA has been allowed into the fold of this prestigious organization means that it is being recognized internationally for the huge service it has supplied to its members over the last 70 years. It also put its members on even footing with the so called “international” players in the South African Market, and even goes further by giving its members access to internationally recognized training like the Transnational Referral Certificate, as well as the Certificate of the International Specialist. More information about this will be available at the IEASA 70 Year Celebration Conference from 27 – 30 September 2007 at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park.

The WorldProperties.com Network sets uniform international standards of practice which enable its members to profitably participate in real estate transactions across local, regional and international borders. ICREA represents 26 leading real estate associations located in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the United States. Collectively, these organizations represent more than two million practitioners and $25 trillion of GDP.
