EAAB EXAM DEADLINE
Estate agents intending to write the Certificate in Estate Agency examination on
24 November 2005 must register by not later than 21 October 2005. The reminder comes from Mr. Arnold Nel chairman of the Pietermaritzburg region of the Institute of Estate Agents, which is presenting a course to prepare candidates for the exam.
''We cannot emphasise strongly enough how important qualifications are in our industry'' says Arnold Nel.'' Today it isn't enough for an estate agent simply to know how to sell, estate agents also have to have a working knowledge of several laws, and to be able to give financial advice. This exam covers the fundamental principles.''
The examination, which was introduced in 1984 and has been revised several times since then, is set by the Estate Agency Affairs Board, which is the industry's regulator. It is voluntary, and successful candidates are entitled to place the letters CEA behind their names.
The IEASA was founded in 1937 to promote professional standards in the estate agency industry. Training is one of its most important activities, and the Institute will be presenting a ''REAL ESTATE SALES MARKETING'' course for new agents and its a refresher for the established agents starting Friday 4/11/2005 for 4 consecutive Fridays in November from 9am to 4pm. This course is open to members of the public who are considering a career in Real Estate.
