Please take note that the administrative fees charged by the Deeds Office for registering property transfers and mortgage bonds will change from Monday 1 November 2004. The new property transfer fees, based on the value of the property, are: Up to R80 000 R55 R80 001 - 150 000 R200 R150 001 - 300 000 R260 R300 001- 500 000 R340 R500 001 - 1 000 000 R400 R1 000 001 - 2 000 000 R500 R2 000 001 - 3 000 000 R650 R3 000 001 - 5 000 000 R800 R5 000 001 and more R1000 The new mortgage bond registration fees are R200 for a bond of up to R150 000. For larger bonds the scale is the same as that for transfers.
