Beware false FIC Registration companies   Article Date :25 Feb 2011 Many of you have been receiving emails from a falsified gmail address fica.eaab@gmail.com who claim to be a registration body for FIC and they are charging an admin fee for the service. Herewith an urgent disclaimer direct from FIC in which they confirm that: the registration process in terms of the FIC Act is free of charge. The obligation to register is a personal obligation that rests entirely on accountable and reporting institutions and as the registration includes providing the FIC with the details of the compliance officer and the institution’s information, the registration must be completed by the institution themselves and not through any third party – whether or not fees are charged by that third party.
