No increase to fees
Next year's licence renewal fees for estate agents are not being increased, according to Bill Rawson, national president of IEASA. This is in spite of the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB) proposal to the Department of Trade and Industries (DTI) to increase fees by 20 percent which was reported in an earlier edition of Property Professional Online (PPO). Rawson believes the DTI decided against the EAAB's proposal, although this was unable to be confirmed by PPO. Rawson's statement is based on notification of license renewal fees for next year being unchanged from the current R212 for principals and R122 for non principals or candidates. Registration renewals are payable before October 31 with penalties for late payment of R250 for principal and R150 for non-principals.
